We’re approaching the end of the month and therefore the end of 4 complete weeks of #FADD2022! It’s been another great week with endless variety and creativity on display from our participants. Remember though, if you need a few more days or even a week or so to finish off your project, that’s okay ππ. The FADD team will still be checking social media and our hashtag regularly and keep your eyes open for mini projects too – January is almost over, but Fun A Day continues!

On Sunday we had another fun Zoom get together, this time themed around collage. Above you can see some of the work created by participants during that call. These Zoom sessions are a great way for participants to connect with each other even at times when it’s not possible to do things in person.
As always it’s been incredible to see the progress participants have made over the past week and month. We are so impressed with everything that folk have created and it’s amazing to feel part of such a creative community – we love cheering you all on! π
Some participants choose to work on one (or several) larger pieces over the course of the month and some aim to create a smaller themed piece every day. Naturally, all types of project are encouraged and celebrated, today however we thought it would be fun to showcase some galleries of themed work that a few participants have created over the month…

First up are these cute wee bothys by Amy Smith Downey aka @steampoweredfish. We love how each piece is “the same but different”, depicting a range of seasons, weathers, flora and fauna.

Here are some absolutely beautiful birds illustrated by Julie West. We love the attention to detail and gorgeous colouring as well as her perfect captures of birds’ poses.

Many of our participants like to create with textiles – above is a wonderful project by Shona Mason using wool from a variety of different sheep to create a piece of embroidery. We love seeing all the different yarns, colours and flowers on a daily basis!

And one more before we go – Sophie Bevan joined Fun A Day Dundee for the first time this year and has been wowing us with her gorgeous landscapes which manage to convey strength and delicacy at the same time.

Finally, a quick reminder of next week’s Zoom Artist Session!
This week we meet with Kirsty Dalton. She’ll be talking wood turning, fine art and design.
Join us for this zoom call on Thursday 3rd Feb at 7pm.
There will be a bonus (optional) art activity with Kirsty at the end, for which you’ll just need paper and mark making instrument. (Pencil/pen/paint.)
You don’t have to have your camera or mic on any more that you feel comfortable with (or indeed at all!)
Register soon because space is limited – click here to visit Eventbrite and register for your free ticket. We hope youβre able to join us!
