Week 3 of #FADD2021

We’re two thirds into the month now and it’s been great to see what the third week has had in store for all of us watching participants’ progress. We absolutely love seeing the enormous variety and volume of creativity the FADD community has to offer, thank you all for sharing it with us!

We’re getting to a stage now where we can see if there have been any popular themes amongst participants this year, which are always fun to look for! 2021 has seen pyrography getting attention, for example with these project from @kirstyangove_art on instagram (left) and this project from @kirstydaltondesigns, also on instagram (right):

Since we are all both spending more time at home this year (well, maybe not more time at home than we did in 2020, but more than in years before that!) it’s been nice to see some projects that focus on Dundee, finding beauty in our immediate surroundings and bringing a great sense of place. Projects such as these photographs by instagram users @faldajohnson (left) and @thecandlebothy (right):

Pauline Lavery (@pauline.lavery on instagram) is also working on a Dundee-themed project with this amazing drawing (in progress) showing many of the city’s landmarks:

Of course these are just a few of the many projects our participants are working on. As we do each week, a few were showcased in our 3rd Monday Funday post, which you can see again below.

This can be a point in the month where it starts to become harder to keep up momentum or life just gets in the way of creating, and if that’s happened to you, don’t worry! You don’t have to post a photo of your work everyday, or even work on your project every day (though we’d all love to be able to, life isn’t always straightforward, especially just now!). Us at team FADD will still be regularly checking into the FADD social media into February and it’s ok if you need a wee bit of extra time at the end to get things wrapped up.

Finally, if you are missing some of the community that FADD usually brings to January, why not connect with us virtually? We have two online sessions a week where you can meet (in a virtual space) with other participants and work on a tutorial or your own project. If you’d like more information about these sessions, please check out this blog post.

That’s all for now, we can’t wait to see what week 4 brings us! Have fun everyone 😊
