There’s no question that 2020 is a year to be remembered. Through the negative news we’re seeing acts of change and passion which in part have been fueled by the year we’ve had. Over the years we’ve built a loose family of creatives who’ve taken part and have volunteered in our shows. We’re grateful for everyone’s participation and support, and made the effort to try and give back over lockdown. We felt the urgency to focus on the good, and lend our hand to being a supportive and fun place for anyone. (Outwith our usual project scheduling which takes place around January.) FADDCreatives (Instagram) was the place to sing and dance about our community, shedding any other posts about FADD. It’s a new home to showcase any creative projects, opportunities, and day to day living of our wonderful community.

As FADDCreatives we posted arty and fun prompts to inspire new making, a chance to reflect, or share existing photos and art work. We had a great response, and finished up the year with a mini festive project: FADD Stars. We posted out little wooden stars as well as placing them for collection in local shops and cafes: Blend Dundee, Autumn Wren Forfar, and Double Door Studios Dundee. Free of charge and just a bit of festive fun! We were so impressed with the results, and the variety of creative takes on a ‘blank *star* canvas’. We’re excited to do more activities like this in future.

For our next step as FADDCreatives, we’re bringing you Creative Video Sessions.
We loved holding social meets in the past where we got to chat with participants of FADD, and those interested. These meets also provided the opportunity to make work together, swap art materials, and provide some FAQs.
Due to covid restrictions, we’re turning our sights to video calls as a means to communicate and connect creatively, which many people are now familiar with after 2020! 🙂 Even if you’re not, we’re here to help you get engaged and join in with our video sessions.

We have 2 different kinds of sessions planned every week (to suit different schedules and needs.) These will begin in January during our FADD2021 project, and will continue on following that month under FADDCreatives. All you need to do is select the date you would like to book via Eventbrite and we’ll send you a link to our Facebook ‘Room’. Our Morning Chill (max 5 people) sessions tickets go live each week. There is no need to create a
Facebook Account. Any questions, please email funadaydundee@gmail.com or
message us on Instagram or Facebook.

Mics Off Creative Sessions
7-8.30pm Wednesdays
“Mics Off Creative Sessions are run by the Fun a Day Dundee Team and are open to anyone and everyone across the globe.
These sessions are online opportunities to connect and get creative with other creatives including artists, non-artists, those with experience in creative work, and those with none. Join Kirsty Baxter (Fun a Day Dundee Creative Facilitator) each week where you can choose to work on your own project or follow along with Kirsty as she experiments creatively with different art ideas, prompts, and videos. We want to make everyone feel comfortable in our sessions, which we know can be a hard thing in online chats. So Mics Off invites you to put your mic off! Kirsty will play some music to soothe those creative vibes and help you find your flow! Video is also optional. Put the kids to bed, grab a drink, get comfy in your own home, and sign on for a pressure-free evening of fun.”

Morning Chill Creative Sessions
10-11.30am Saturdays
“Morning Chill Creative Sessions are run by the Fun a Day Dundee Team and are open to anyone and everyone across the globe. These sessions are online opportunities to connect and get creative with a small group (5 max) of other creatives including artists, non-artists, those with experience in creative work, and those with none. Join Kirsty Baxter (Fun a Day Dundee Creative Facilitator) each week where you can choose to work on your own project or follow along with Kirsty as she experiments creatively with different art ideas, prompts, and videos. We want to be able to connect and get together even when that isn’t physically possible so we have started Online Sessions as a way to get creative at home and still be in company with others! This is an opportunity to chat about anything you fancy, share your work, ask for tips, and get feedback from a variety of different folks. Grab a coffee, and sign on for a pressure-free morning of fun”
