My Fun A Day story | Vicky Kerr

Every year we are inspired by the variety of skills on show during Fun A Day in Dundee. We want you to be inspired too, so we’re sharing some of our previous participants’ stories as we get ready for Fun A Day Dundee 2020!

Whatever you’d like to create, we want to see it!

Let’s hear from Vicky Kerr, who took part in 2018 and 2019.

‘My first Fun A Day Dundee was 2018 – I found it online on January 3rd, I think. I’d been wanting to get back into creating art – and this seemed a perfect way to kick myself into action!’

‘Sometimes I’ve managed a piece a day and other times worked on something over several days, so that I managed to fit it in around everyday life – I didn’t quite manage every day last year but I did pretty well!’

‘I’ve used Fun A Day Dundee to explore creating art in different styles and different media – I mostly draw but started to paint too. It’s helped me challenge myself and decide what to focus on (I’ve now started selling artwork in a local shop as well as on Etsy).’

‘It’s a great event to take part in and there’s no pressure – you don’t have to exhibit, although I’d encourage everyone to do so as it’s lovely to see the range of different projects in real life.’

‘Sam and the team are so welcoming and supportive – I’m looking forward to taking part again in 2020.’
